After years of planning and public consultations, the rumours about the impending demolition of this site were finally confirmed in December 2006. With plenty of time away from college over the Christmas period, we decided to head back to Chinnor for a second, and final, visit.

On arrival at the site, we found lots of new fencing had been erected around the buildings. At first it looked like it would prevent access, but both of us managed to squeeze underneath it, getting covered in mud in the process!

After an undisturbed few hours, our cue to leave came in the form of security guards arriving to patrol the site.

The view from the machinery hut on top of the slag silos. This serves well as a hiding place when security guards arrive!

Police tape wrapped around the base of a rusty ladder. Sadly, this marks the point where a teenager fell to his death in 2004.
